University of Mysore. It is established on 27th July in the year 1961. The Mission of this university is published in the Mysore Gazette Extraordinary, aims at promoting teaching and research in Conventional and traditional domains of Arts, Humanities, Pure and applied sciences and professional disciplines. As per today the University has 42 Postgraduate Departments at the Main Campus. New programs are Masters in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Electronics, Genetics, Electronic Media, Geographical Information Systems, Information, etc.
Mysore University will conduct the semester examinations for 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Final) year students twice in a year. The Semester examinations are differentiated as Winter (Odd) Semester (1st, 3rd, 5th Sem) and Summer (Even) Semester (2nd, 4th, 6th Sem) for all year students.
